西寺

位于京都市南区唐桥。乃日本废寺。属净土宗西山派。创建于桓武天皇延历十五年（782）。隔朱雀大路与东寺（教王护国寺）相对。守敏僧都曾居于此，空海则居于东寺。本寺曾遭大火烧毁，建久八年（1197），文觉加以兴修。后寺运衰颓，仅余寺地之标帜。近年有土坛、瓦等出土。
