指空宗与有宗。空宗，乃主张一切皆空、般若皆空之宗派；有宗，乃主张诸法为‘有’之宗派。小乘佛教中，俱舍宗属于有宗，成实宗属于空宗；大乘佛教中，法相宗属于有宗，三论宗属于空宗。（参阅‘有宗’2432、‘空宗’3477）
